Netball Queensland HQ sells for $2.202M

A PRIVATE investor has acquired Netball Queensland’s HQ, pending their relocation to a purpose-built facility in Nathan, for $2.202M at 210-212 Beaudesert Road in Moorooka.

Coming with a 687sq m* net lettable area, the property was offered as vacant possession, and was sold after a successful expressions of interest campaign.

The asset was marketed and sold by Ray White Commercial Queensland’s director – sales John Dwyer and director – office leasing and sales Jason Hines.

Mr Dwyer said there was strong interest throughout the campaign, with a number of enquiries coming from both investors and owner-occupiers alike.

“Potential buyers really appreciated the opportunity that was on offer here, and that was highlighted by the fact we had more than 20 enquiries,” he said.

“The property was originally purpose-built to house the Commonwealth Employment Service and was acquired by Netball Queensland as their HQ, where they stayed for some years.

“The investor plans on undertaking a major refurbishment before placing the property back on the market for lease.”

Mr Hines said the location of the asset alone was a major drawcard, and the flexibility of the site’s zoning opened up the potential for a variety of uses from standard office, medical centres and/or health and fitness groups

“The property is just 9km* south west of Brisbane CBD, situated outbound on Beaudesert Road, one of Brisbane’s major traffic thoroughfares,” Mr Hines said.

“Moorooka is an older established residential suburb with the property on the southern edge of the busy retail/commercial ‘high street’, commonly referred to as Moorvale.

“The 25 undercover parking bays that are provided is seldom found in commercial assets of this nature, and the property also enjoys excellent corporate exposure, as well as having council buses running past the front door.”
